Doodled Dogs is the latest doodling book by writer and illustrator Gemma Correll, author of Doodling for Dog People, Doodling for Bookworms, and The Feminist Activity Book. It has a section in the front with some facts about dogs and fun stuff about dog lovers. Then it's on to examples of drawings of different dog breeds and different doggy expressions.
There are step-by-step instructions on how to draw a few breeds, such as a French bulldog, dachshund and poodle, as well as suggestions for accessories like hats and Halloween costumes. There are also some doodle templates, with suggestions for what to add (outfits, balls, bones etc.), and how to draw kennels. In the back, there are also instructions on how to make a coffee mug decorated with one of your dogs.
My attempts at drawing dogs based on suggestions from the book.
Doodled Dogs might be a bit intimidating for someone who is convinced they really can't draw and might need to start with something simpler to build their confidence up first, but once you get going it's a lot of fun. It would be a great gift for someone who likes to doodle and loves dogs.
