In 2025, Theatre Works is presenting a wonderful celebration of exceptional theatre that champions bold stories, innovative productions, and outstanding talent.


The exciting 2025 program sees Theatre Works continue to uphold its commitment to enriching Melbourne's arts landscape with unique theatre experiences that span genres, styles, and audiences.

2025 Season Highlights include:


  • Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov, directed by Greg Carroll, takes pride of place on the 2025 VCE Theatre Studies Playlist. This iconic work will be helmed by one of Theatre Works' founding members, marking a poignant return 40 years after its inception. Season March 7-22



  • As part of our By Theatre Works program, Theatre Works presents The Machine Stops by Briony Dunn, adapted from the novel by E.M. Forster and starring the incredible Jane Montgomery Griffiths. This thought-provoking production explores the intersection of humanity and technology in a captivating narrative. Season 4 - 17 April.

  • The smash hit Beep Test by Connor Neylon & Jackson Peele makes a highly anticipated return after its award-winning premiere at Theatre Works. This fast-paced comedic over-the-top new Australian musical is filled with drama and chaos. Season: 30 April - 10 May.

  • Antipodes Theatre Company joins forces with Theatre Works to co-produce Storked by Myf Hocking. Developed as part of the She Writes Collective, this original work showcases the depth of emerging talent fostered by Theatre Works. Guaranteed to be unlike anything you’ve seen before! Season: 15 - 24 May.

  • Love and Information by the legendary Caryl Churchill, directed by rising talent Belle Hansen, promises to deliver a kaleidoscopic exploration of modern relationships and society through Churchill’s razor-sharp wit and innovative structure. Season: 29 May - 14 June.

  • The stage adaptation of Anthony Hill's moving novel Soldier Boy brings a powerful, true Australian story to life, offering audiences a deeply emotional and thought-provoking experience. Season: 19 June - 5 July.



  • Celebrate Theatre Works' enduring legacy and bright future!


    With Theatre Works' two venues fully programmed, Melbourne theatre lovers can expect another fabulous year brimming with unforgettable performances, collaborative productions, and artistic excellence!
