Small Cocktail and Wine bars have made a resurgence in recent years and Donny's Bar in Manly is leading the way on the Northern Beaches.

Tucked away off Market Lane this is easily missed so keep your eyes peeled for their signage. This small Trendy New York inspired Loft style Bar & Restaurant is one you don't want to miss.

The baby of partners Matt Clifton & Tol Broinowski. Both have had extensive backgrounds working and managing bars with Merivale, Hugos Groups and Keystone to name a few so they have their finger on the pulse in this competitive small Bar & Restaurant scene.

This venue exudes a hip atmosphere with its warm rustic brick interior. High bar tables, timber, leather and brass bar fittings along with the vintage style low lighting creates a cosy warm inviting interior.

The Ground level Bar Menu offers a selection of dips, tapas, Burgers and dumplings for more casual eating.

For a more extensive appetite the upstairs open loft area offers a more substantial modern Contemporary menu. Just hold on tight and watch your step going up the narrow spiral staircase especially if you have indulged in a few Blood Orange Chilli Margaritas, my favourite.

You must book if you wish to enjoy Head Chef Richie Dia exceptional cuisine in the upper loft restaurant. Originating from Japan, with 24 years of experience Richie has an eye for details which is evident in his menu selection.

If you wish to book a function here you can book out the whole top floor which has a nice cosy intimate lounge area for your guests to also enjoy.

This is a comfortable social environment for a mixture of ages. With live music every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening you will settle in for one drink but end up staying for several more.
