Donnybrook is the apple capital of Western Australia, and this town puts on some excellent events. The Donnybrook Apple Festival was established in 1954 and is now in its 64th year.
It has been an integral part of the Donnybrook community right through from its inception. Donnybrook is a pleasant 2 hour drive from Perth and a lovely, quaint place to spend a few days with plenty of accommodation of various types.
Their next event is their famous Apple Festival and this will be held over the Easter weekend, so make sure you make your accommodation bookings as soon as possible - this is always a popular festival in the apple capital of Western Australia.

COMPETITIONS
Annual Competition for Crafts and Home Cooking
Show n Shine Modified Cars & 4WDs
This competition will have all the entered vehicles displayed at the Festival on both days.
The vehicles will all be driven in a Street parade, on the Saturday at midday, and they will be driven at walking pace for the distance of the parade which is about 2 kms.
The competition has categories, as follows and entrants are all privately owned vehicles:
1. On-road vehicles built prior to 1990
2. Off-road vehicles (4WD) built prior to 1990
3. On-road vehicles built after 1990
4. Off-road vehicles (4WD) built after 1990
5. Factory performance vehicles
6. Restored vehicles - old classics
Arts Competition - Harvest Theme
This will commence at 10.00 am on the Sunday, and you can register your child at this
site, and cost will be $5.
There will be a wood chopping competition on 1st April at 10:30 am to 5.00 pm, and this will be held at Egan Park, Donnybrook.
OTHER ENTERTAINMENT

This caramel apple from stall holder, BronnyD's Caramel Apples, makes me want to go and book my accommodation now!
There will be some excellent food and wine stallholders, and even Balingups' famous fruit ports and liqueurs with Birdwood Park Fruit Winery will be available. As well as that, there will be the unique ciders and boutique brews with The Cidery, the Blackwood Valley Brewing Company, and many more.
The Saturday concert will end with an amazing fireworks display.
