Desperately need to Spring-clean your wardrobe but lacking in motivation? Most of us are when it comes to doing the hard yards; digging through our closets and attempting to suppress those nostalgic clothing moments - 'but I loved that skirt in High school" or "I know it doesn't fit now, but maybe one day"...
If this sounds like yourself or someone you know, take note. Over the next two weeks the awesome volunteers at the Brotherhood of St Laurence have teamed up with The Glen shopping centre to offer you dollars for your duds. From Monday 19th of August until September 1; anyone donating a bag of clothes will receive a $10 The Glen voucher in return, limited to a maximum of two vouchers per person. If you have more you can always have a friend hand the extras in for you.
Not only is the offer quite generous coming; in part from a charity, it is also a great way to give back to the community and give a new life to your former wardrobe favourites.
If you're keen, here's what you need to know; the donation bags will be collected from The Glen's Information Desk on level 1 of the centre. All garments must be clean, folded and packed in a large plastic bag.
As far as those vouchers go, you'll be spoiled for choice at The Glen - with its over 200 fashion and lifestyle stores and dining options to suit every taste.
So why not make a day out of it - maybe 2 or 3 for a clothing addict such as myself - go through your Winter wardrobe or start culling to make room for future Summer wears. Hand in your goody bags, redeem your gift cards and plan where to spend it over a lunch & latte and remember... New shoes are easier to store.
