Igloo bars have arrived in Sydney at Pier One on the waterfront for some indulgence that takes socialising to a new level. The unique Nordic-inspired cluster of pop-ups will allure you out during the remainder of winter with their warming fit outs.
The igloos on the rooftop of Pier One Hotel include a fireplace, comfy bean bags, fur rugs and fluffy slippers to keep you cosy whilst relaxing with friends, enjoying warm food and beverages from the bar. Guests can luxuriate in St Hugo Wines and GH Mumm Champagne as well as beers and cocktails. Food includes toasties, hot soups, pies, charcuterie boards, cheese plates, apple pies and a variety of other treats.
It's an experience I haven't seen in Sydney before and if you're looking for something a bit different then this may well be it. I've read reviews mentioning it is not cheap and be prepared to spend the dough for this unforgettable Arctic outing but I think it's quite good value. A small dome will set you back $400 whilst a larger dome fitting up to 10 people seated will cost you $600. Each dome can be hired for a 3 hour session and the prices here include food and alcohol to these values. If you divide the cost between friends, it's not so expensive and some would probably spend at least $60 on alcohol alone on a night out.
The domes are available day and night, from 11.30am onwards. Bookings are essential through the Pier One Group on 02 8298 9999.
