Best wine in Victoria
The Yarra Valley is full of beautiful wineries and stunning scenery. One of the most picturesque places is Domaine Chandon.
Overlooking the Great Dividing Range, Domaine Chandon is the perfect place for a delicious meal and wine tastings. The Greenpoint Brasserie boasts seasonal fine foods; some highlights on the current menu include, Ground lamb brioche slider, Pan roasted snapper fillet, Duck leg, fennel and mushroom pie, and a Chocolate delice with salted caramel praline. Small plates are priced $17-$18, larger options are $22-$32 and desserts are $13.50. With indoor and outdoor seating both overlooking the scenery, the brasserie is a hot spot all year around.
Now onto the wine. For just $5 you can taste several wines, including sparkling, red, white and rose. The fee is refundable upon purchase, which you'll more than likely be taking advantage of. The Chandon Brut Rose is a sparkling, fresh wine with a fruity kick – definitely worth picking up a bottle, or five.
Ever feel like escaping the city? Chandon is located just one hour from Melbourne, at 727 Maroondah Highway, Coldstream. Open every day from 10:30am to 4:30pm, it's the perfect location for a fabulous day out.
