Doll House: Miniature Worlds of Wonder reopens at Como House and Garden from 5 November, 2021 to 30 January, 2022.
The collection of 42 dollhouses come from a mixture of collectors and families who have passed them down through family generations. Many previously unseen from the 1880s to the present day.
Together with furniture, accessories, ephemera and virtual experiences,
Doll House: Miniature Worlds of Wonder unlocks the imagination of makers, collectors, activists and players and reveals the stories hidden in their worlds.
You'll find iconic designs including Swedish Lundby mid-century styles like the Kaleidoscope House from the USA. One of seven highly regarded art houses in the doll house world and all the way from Canberra, the house by American photographer Laurie Simmons showcases a different style for children's play, with movable walls and changing colours.
Bluey, the popular children's show has its own doll house.
Well-known miniature artists are taking part, there will be events, talks and workshops throughout the exhibition's run. Emily Boutard, a prominent miniature maker has created her own version of Como House.
Doll House: Miniature Worlds of Wonder is open daily, from 10.00am to 4.00pm. To manage the capacity of visitors, tickets must be pre-purchased online
here . In response to COVID-19, the National Trust has introduced protocols to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of visitors, staff and volunteers at the exhibition.
