Well behaved dogs are always welcome at the
Monday night Inglewood on Beaufort Street markets .
But to make it special for dogs and their owners, they are being given the opportunity to show off and win prizes at their own special event on Monday, October 22.
The event was successfully run for the first time last year as a way of promoting the dog and child-friendly food markets and organisers are looking for 30 well-behaved dogs and owners to walk the runway."
We're looking for happy, cute, colourful, fun dogs. Dress them up or dress them down and come along and have some fun," says Inglewood Night Market manager Cynthia Williamson.
Owners can register their dogs by emailing the owner's name, dog name, breed and age to
[email protected]
MC for the evening will be former Channel 7 reality series
House Rules runners-up Russell Bramston with his wife Carole on the judge's panel along with
My Kitchen Rules runner-up Kelly Steele and
Amazing Race runner-up contestant and vet at Bedford-Dianella Vet Centre, Sally Yamamoto.
First prize will be $100 to spend on anything from the Bedford-Dianella Vet Centre, second prize is 10, 1kg preservative and additive free offal and mince packs from Mondo Butchers and third prize is a $20 voucher to spend at The Treat Truck, which is at the markets every Monday.
The event will start at 6.15pm and will be held at the Inglewood Town Square in front of the Inglewood Library, on the corner of Beaufort Street and Tenth Avenue in Inglewood.
Entry fee will be a gold coin donation with all proceeds going to Lifeline.
All dogs must be on a leash.
The markets, which will run from 6pm to 9pm, every Monday night except for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, until April 29 next year, were already very popular with dog walkers combining some exercise with delicious food from around 50 to 60 vendors running along both sides of Beaufort St in Inglewood from 7th Avenue to 10th Avenue.
Cynthia said an early evening meal was also popular with families and the dog show would provide some entertainment for the youngsters while they ate.
Plenty of seating is available and a Buskers Bar on 7th Avenue features music each week with a pop up bar servicing alcohol to adults.
