Dogs on Brisbane Ferries will get tails wagging
Who doesn't love gliding down the Brisbane River on a City Cat or ferry vessel? Well, now the latest news from Brisbane City Council l has got tails wagging.

You see, The Brisbane City Council will be running a 3 month trial for pups to share a ride with their human companions on the Brisbane Ferry Fleet to enjoy the best of the river city.

The trial follows a Translink community survey which found that 86 per cent of people supported the idea.

Dogs can jump on board in off-peak periods. (That excludes 6am and 8.30am or between 3.30pm and 7pm Monday to Friday). To get their sea legs, pet dogs will be allowed on both ferries and City Cats as long as they:

Only travel during off-peak times (pet dogs will not be permitted between 6am and 8:30am and 3:30pm 7pm Monday to Friday)
Be in a carrier, or on a lead and wearing a muzzle.
Remain under the control of their handler at all times.

Allowing pups to ride on this form of public transport brings Brisbane in line with many of the world's class cities like Paris and New York, which are also dog-friendly.

So whether it's visiting a park, meeting for a puppy play dates or taking a tourist trip of the city, you can now experience it with your four-legged friend.

When on public transport, dogs do not need to be muzzled in cities like Berlin. This experiment will not work for this reason.Muzzling for almost all dogs is unnecessary and wrong.

Dogs have been allowed oversees for years in various venues but the reality is they spread parasites via their feces. Young children are high risk as well as pregnant women. Not a good move by the Council.
