Haven't got plans for this Sunday yet? Looking for something fun to do with your furbaby? Happened to miss out on the RSPCA Million Paws Walk last weekend? Well, this event is the answer to all your queries -
Councillor Jared Cassidy for the Deagon Ward invites all to join in on yet another Dogs Day Out this
Sunday 27th May for a fun-filled morning with your canine companions. Come along bright and early on Sunday, get some exercise in, and meet some new doggy friends and pawrents too while you're at it!
Dogs Day out is held at Decker Park, right along the Brighton waterfront - you won't be disappointed by the view. There is plenty of parking available, so there's no need to worry about that either!
The event kicks off at 8am and will run until 10am. There will be dog themed stalls on site, including:
There will also be a barbecue for the humans, courtesy of the
Bramble Bay Lions . You know an event is worth going to when there are snags up for grabs!
However, the main highlight of this event is the group dog walk that kicks off at 8:30am - this is no ordinary dog walk, as it is a dog walk that aims to raise vital funds for the Animal Welfare League QLD, an organisation who work with local councils, state government, rescue groups and the community to improve the outcomes for stray and surrendered pets. All it'll cost you is $5, with all proceeds going to the AWLQ who run the rehoming centre at Bracken Ridge for Council. Come along and enjoy a fun morning for a good cause!
Eddy, Sam and I had the best time last year at Dog Day Out. Unfortunately, we have relocated to Sydney and will be unable to make it! We can't wait to hear all about your adventures. But for now... here are some photos from last year's event. It was so much fun!
