Good Dog
Taking your dog for a walk on the beach is therapeutic, great exercise and a fantastic social outing - for the dog and for you. We are so very lucky in Adelaide to have beautiful beaches within a short drive of most of us.

Our metropolitan beaches are the perfect playground for your best buddy to play in. They are clean, parking is easily accessible (at most beaches it is free), tap water is available and there are clean-up bags in dispensers and bins all along the coast. Plus, there are other dogs for them to play with!

Nothing quite beats a relaxing (or energising, depending on who is walking who) walk on the beach.

With the approach of Daylight Savings on 5th October, it also means that there are changes to how and when you can walk your dog on the beach.

Between the hours of 10am and 8pm (from October to April) your dog must be on a leash when on the beach. Outside of these hours, the dogs can roam free.

The City of Charles Sturt are hosting a "Doggy Day at the Beach" on Sunday 12th October to help promote the change to daylight saving/leash hours.

Come along to Henley Square for a free day out for you and your pooch. There'll be a free BBQ, stalls and activities. At 12noon there'll be a group dog walk from Henley Jetty to Grange Jetty.

It's all about having fun, enjoying the beach and being a responsible dog owner.

When:
Sunday 12 October 2014

Time:
11am to 2.30pm

The walk from Henley Jetty to Grange Jetty will commence at 12noon

Where:
Henley Square, Henley Beach

There is a doggy goody basket to be won just by entering your details online

Want to walk your doggy off the leash on the beach or in a park? No problem, there are many parks and beaches where you can do that.

This website has a list of nearly 90 of them in South Australia. That's a lot of walkies!

PS..........don't forget to put your clock forward an hour on October 5th
