Do You Want to Take your Fur Baby to a Cafe With You?
Cafes Dedicated to Dogs
Firstly, there are dedicated cafes that sell all dog related items and also have a café, dog minding and grooming, and I have already reviewed FUR BABY BOUTIQUE here.

The other fantastic one is PET LOVERS CAFÉ.

Pet Lovers Café is a fabulous place to take your dogs and they also have a day care centre with plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play. You can either sit with them in this enclosed area, or wait outside and have lunch or coffee.

I went here with my two dogs and even my blind dog was running round (bumping into things) and they have a fantastic range of dog products for sale. The owner is very friendly, and helpful and made me feel welcome with my two dogs who are not good "mixers".

Your dogs can have fun here!

Their food is minimal but the atmosphere makes up for this and I enjoyed lunch there.

It is situated at 195 Guildford Road, Maylands, and there is parking at the side. More information can be seen here.

Other Cafes Where you can Bring your Dog
Then, there are cafes that provide you with water for your dogs and also welcome all dogs, however you must eat outside due to health laws.

Burns Beach Café is situated at Iluka which is 10 minutes from Joondalup.

Burn's Beach Café has part of its outside area dedicated to dogs and they can sit under an umbrella in the hot weather. People often go there after walking their dogs along the waterfront.

Chilli Prawns Linguine

Several years ago they brought out their own "a la carte doggie menu" called DOGGY NUM YUMS, and this has proved a huge success. These treats are available from 7.30 am to 4 pm and this is reason enough to take your dog here, as not many cafes cater for food for your fur baby.

Money made from the sale of these products is all donated to the local pound to help with the stray and unwanted dogs.

They have an extensive menu and are open early in the morning for the early birds, for lunch and also for dinner – great spot to overlook the water at sunset while dining.

As we age, we often cannot eat as much as we used to, and for this reason they provide an oldies over 65 menu, as well as a kids under 12 menu! They also do small and large dinner plate menus which is an added bonus if you do not want a huge meal.

They are situated at 35 Ocean Parade, Iluka, are open seven days a week, and directions can be found here.

Good coffee is a MUST

Coode Street Café has been operating for some years now and is a well-hidden secret in Mt Lawley, nestled on a corner amongst the grand old houses of Mt Lawley.

They have both inside and outside dining, and dogs of course, need to be on leash with their owners outside.

They also have a large take-away section with meals and salads which are made fresh each day. Most of their food is made on the premises, from their chicken pies, bacon and leek tarts, smoked salmon, goats cheese and asparagus tarts, sweet potato and spinach tarts, to their large quiches and frittatas.

Impossible pie

They have a large selection of cakes and slices and these are the only things not made on the premises. If you have to eat gluten free, you will also be catered for here, with their range of gluten free products.

Wild berry cake

Coode Street Café is a casual, friendly place which is situated at 24 Coode Street, Mt Lawley, and is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch. More information can be seen here.

Overlooking the water, this café is an icon in Sorrento, having been the winners of the Gold Plate Breakfast award in 2016 for the second year running. The competition for these awards is very "stiff" with some incredible competition from across Perth and Western Australia.

After walking your dog, drop in to sample their exquisite sunrise breakfast menu including their Chorizo and Spring Onion with Scrambled Eggs, eggs Benedict, pulled pork, smoothies, banana bread, waffles and so much more.

Their unique West Coast beach vibe is the perfect start to any day, and it will also give your dog a rest for a while!

Area where you can sit with your dog

They are situated at 134 West Coast Highway, Sorrento and are open seven days a week from 8 am to 10 pm. More information can be seen here.

This café has the most incredible drinks I have seen anywhere….they come in various flavours and are "to die for" – pick your own combination or have one of their suggested ones – either way, you cannot lose on this delicious "food"!

Rise and Grind Cafe

And here is another of these famous meals in a glass – do not go here whilst on a diet!

You can custom design these shakes to include whatever you like, and they also have savoury food, such as this "haloumi Sunday" breakfast dish.

Haloumi Sunday Breakfast
An unusual breakfast or lunch

And who could resist this one with lashings of cream and the latest "favourite" flavour of salted caramel?

Don't miss taking your dog to this café

The café is situated at 255a Scarborough Beach Road, Doubleview, and they are open for breakfast and lunch, from 7.30 am to 3 pm. More information can be seen here.

I have already reviewed the Blue Lotus Cafe, although when I went, I did not take my dogs (I have a blind dog and it is difficult to take the two out to a strange place).

It is however an interesting place to take a dog as long as the dog is not likely to want to chase large fish in their ponds adjoining the cafe!

You can see this Cafe here.

This is another dog friendly cafe that I have already reviewed, and also one I did not take my dogs to when I went there.

Açai cups are packed with granola and gojis

You can see the review here.

Beaches Café is almost opposite Cottesloe Beach and has a parking area in a side street just 1 minute away from the Cafe. I used to go here every week with my dog and found it very popular amongst "doggy people".

View from part of the Café

They have a varied menu which changes regularly – their steak panini has a lot of meat in it which is not overdone as many steak sandwiches are.

They have a large array of interesting and different breakfasts available so do try their breakfast with banana – you have a wide choice here whether it be a cooked breakfast or a healthier one.

Add some banana to breakfast

Beaches is situated at 122 Marine Parade, Cottesloe and are open seven days a week. They are open very early for those who walk their dogs before work - their hours are from 6 am to 5 pm. More information can be seen here.

The Little Pantry is a popular Shenton Park Café which has been there for some time, and it has a lovely courtyard out the back which is ideal in the sunny winter days or on cool summer days, for you and your dog.

The Little Pantry, Shenton Park

They do excellent breakfasts which are available until 2 pm daily, and they also have gluten free foods, and I would term this café as "cosy".

The choice of breakfast has such things as homemade tomato braised beans; crispy skin salmon; cheesecake Belgian waffles; truffle scrambled eggs; and the ever popular smashed avocado on ciabatta toast.

Scrumptious breakfasts

Lunch also has some great meals including this char grilled eggplant mini pie with fire roasted peppers, Danish feta, and wild rocket salad.

Access can be gained via the back for bringing your pooch along.

They are situated at 206 Nicholson Road, Shenton Park, and are open seven days a week from 7 am to 4 pm. More information can be seen here.

Daphne is an extension of the Daphne Collection, a gallery run out of Adam Mitchell and Sophie Bower Johnson's home on Daphne Street, North Perth.

The menu here is not huge however it is great for a snack and often it is difficult to find places that have "snacks" for lunch as against huge lunches. At Daphne you need not walk away feeling you have eaten too much!

Daphnes, Northbridge
Dogs are always welcome in this area

They serve such things as espresso, filter and decaf coffees as well as a variety of teas, and this is a great place to meet up in between meals for that pastry and a shot of caffeine.

Small, but quaint

Daphne is situated at 454 William Street, Northbridge, and they are open Tuesday to Saturday from 7 am to 3 pm. More information can be seen here.

Antz Inya Pantz is a coffee icon with 3 stores in Victoria Park.

Their menu includes bagels, brownies, friandz, and cookies as well as things like Bircher muesli with fruit and yoghurt, and raw food options in a display cabinet.

They have a selection of light meals and decadent sweet delicacies like their donuts, cocoa and spices cupcakes, raspberry chocolate croissants, as well as lunch or snack items like macadamia pesto bagels, and cinnamon scrolls.

Scrumptious donuts

They have an inside and outside area where you can sit with your fur babies and sip excellent coffees with a large choice.

Dog before his share of donuts!

They also do a range of their own brand of beer which in itself is worth going to if beer is your "thing"!

They are situated at 965 Albany Highway, East Victoria Park, and their hours are 5.30 am to 3 pm seven days a week, though on weekends they open from 6.30 am to noon. More information can be seen here.

Little Shop of Plenty describe themselves as "nutritional food filled with life".

Their concentration is on raw foods and they have exciting ingredients with healthy eating being their aim. They make both sweet and savoury, and use fresh, natural food which they say is the key to feeling and looking good.

They use wholefoods, that is, organic fruits, vegetables and other plant ingredients which have not been processed or have little processing, and all their food is gluten and dairy free.

So if you are having lunch here, your dog will also be catered for with raw foods!

Raw pizza, which is delicious

Check out this link, to see the range of superfoods they use in their healthy foods.

The actual café is a large one and seating for you and your dog is also therefore roomy.

You and your dog can eat in this area

The café is run by a couple, Kim and Mark, and Kim has had an interest in healthy foods and cooking for some time now, and has a goal of wanting to help people to achieve better health merely by eating better food.

Sweet treats are on the menu, though you will not find any added processed sugar in the treats available here, and they are probably therefore also suitable for your four legged friends!

It is surprising what can actually be made using these ingredients and unprocessed foods, and this café is well worth a visit as it is SO different from the ordinary run of the mill cafés.

Healthy foods

They are situated at 217 Railway Parade, Maylands and are open seven days a week - Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3.30 pm, and Friday to Sunday from 7 am to 4 pm. Check their kitchen closing times, and more, can be seen here.

Lady Latte is a small café and they have a passion for food as well as coffee, and to this end they also have a mobile van (which they have run since 2009) which attends functions and can be hired.

Lady Latte, Scarborough
Front of Lady Latte Cafe

However they now also have their café in Scarborough and this has proved to be a casual and interesting place serving breakfast and lunches.

Your dog is most welcome here, and their menu is quite varied and includes such items as:
Gourmet jaffles
Mac and cheese, curry up
The matador
Miss Piggy
Presto pesto
Mr Bean
Hound dog
And more
As well as:
Chicken burgers
Daily salads
Porky's roll
Steak sandwich
Beer battered chips and aioli
Potato rosti to name but a few

Sweet potato rosti

Lady Latte is situated at 39 Edgehill Street, Scarborough, and they are open from 6.30 am to 2 pm. More information is available here.

The Leaky Tap name came from a plumbing business that the owners had in their family for over 70 years. The café is named in honour of the founders of this business, Craig Vivian and Olympic gymnast Olivia Vivian.

The Leaky Tap is therefore decorated in a plumbing theme which, in itself is unusual!

It is situated opposite the Iona Primary School ground, and the Cafe is a friendly, and fun place to hang out. It is also near the Mosman Park Train station, making it very easy to get to.

Great place for dogs also

Breakfast is available until 11 am, and the menu is also plumbing themed, with such dishes as:
Nuts and Bolts
The Common Callout
Busted bircher
Plugs and Pipes
The Kitchen Sink
Clogged Drain
Flushed fish and more

Their menu is a real fun menu and very cleverly thought out. Their food is recommended, and the menu is quite extensive. This is a place that you MUST take your pooch to, as they are really dog friendly, and even the dog bowls are plumbing related!

You can even find some food for your fur baby here!

Dog food

The Leaky Tap is situated at 43 Victoria Street, Mosman Park, and is open seven days a week from 8 am to 2 pm. More information can be seen here.

Bayside Kitchen is a trendy, casual place which is great for either small or large gatherings.

They have about ten different health drinks on their menu including things like:
Nourish which is celery, beetroot, apple and lemon
Immunity – Carrot, orange, lemon, ginger and lime
Boost – Cucumber, celery, kale and lime
Their breakfasts include
Chia pudding, with fresh fruits and nut crumble and is vegan and gluten free
Mixed mushrooms with tofu, kale, and dukkah on ciabatta
Pan omelette with chorizo, spinach and goat's cheese
Range of burgers – and much more.

Great food and good choices

With great views, and on Matilda Bay, this is an ideal position after walking your dogs (and your children) on a lazy spring day, and there is even seating for your dog!

Bayside Kitchen is situated at 5 Hackett Drive, Crawley, they are open seven days a week from 7.30 am to 4pm (winter hours) and to 6 pm on weekends. More information can be seen here.

Steam Haus do a wonderful all day breakfast, and they are on the cafe "strip" in Maylands.

Steam Haus Cafe
Runny eggs - delectable!

Their menu is concise, however the food is well presented and ample.

Some of the food on the lunch menu includes:
Caesar salad
House salad
Reuben sandwich with home made sauerkraut
Chicken club sandwich

As well as being dog friendly, this café is an excellent place to go with young children.

Bring your dogs and your kids here

Why not try one of these delicious cupcakes – not just your ordinary cup cakes but with far more calories, and sure to please the sweet tooth, with of course, a tiny bit for the fur baby.

Although Steam Haus is a relatively small place, it is well worth a visit, and you can sit outside with pooch and watch the traffic on the Whatley Road strip.

They are situated at 200 Whatley Crescent, Maylands, and they are open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, from 7 am to 3 pm. You can find out more information here.

This is a casual pizzeria and café, which does wonderful pizzas and even if you do not like/want pizzas, they have other meals and most dogs LOVE pizzas.

Casual atmosphere, great for pooches

Their pizza menu is quite varied and you can do the following;
Half n half
Seafood, and more.

One of their many types of pizza toppings

They also do a range of Italian meals with all your favourites such as lasagne, spaghetti carbonara, arancini, cannelloni and of course spaghetti bolognese.

There is also a range of bagels, sandwiches and other café style meals.

They are situated at 360 Stirling Street, Highgate, and are open for dinner seven days a week from 4 pm to 7 pm, and they do take-aways plus online ordering. More information can be found here.

The Babylon Café is a rustic, unusual café with quirky items scattered around! It is a charming place and is what I would term, a "hidden treasure", being located at the back of the Rug Studio on Carr Place, and not on the main strip of Leederville.

Their seating is mainly outside so it is ideal to bring man's best friend along here.

Courtyard at Babylon where you can sit with Fido

They do EXCELLENT coffee which is both strong and robust, and they do breakfast and lunch.

I had a soup when I went here and this was well worth having, and just the right size for lunch.

Their menu is an all day one, so you can have your late breakfast or brunch at any time. They do tortilla stacks which are "second to none" and well worth taking Fido there for – of course you need to let Fido taste as well.

Delicious tortilla stacks with heaps of filling

They also do toasties and these change regularly, as well as having other light meals at this retro style cafe.

Menu with daily toasties

It is located at 656 Newcastle Street (rear), Leederville and they are open Monday to Saturday from 6.30 am to 3 pm. More information can be seen here.

Although Garden Café on Guildford has not got a huge menu, it is a great place to go for a meal with your dog. They do excellent sausage rolls as well as wraps and toasties, sweet delights and more.

They describe themselves as having "delicious food made with fresh quality seasonal produce".

Dog of all sizes are welcome in their back courtyard, and there is always a bowl of water for them.

Water for dogs

This is a casual café who also do outside catering and take bookings for tables. It has a surprisingly large area out the back, and is therefore suitable for larger parties of people, as well as people with dogs. It has the added advantage that it has a partial roof over this area which protects it from rain and also from the glaring sun in summer.

Room for many dogs AND people

The Garden Café on Guildford is situated at 317 Guildford Road, Maylands and they are open seven days a week, from 7 am to 2.30 pm for breakfast and lunch. More information can be seen here.
