What better way to be entertained on a cold winter's evening, than with a Firelight Festival! It's all happening at Docklands, 131-141 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands, kicking off with the opening weekend from 29 Jun to 1 July 2018 in three locations; the New Quay Promenade, the Harbour Esplanade and the Victoria Harbour Promenade from 5-10pm on all three days. A free event, there'll be food and drinks to purchase.
Pyrotechnics, flame jets and fire drums are bound to give out some warmth, with roving performers, eclectic music and bespoke settings, ready to set your heart on fire. There's plenty entertainment to be had with over 40 performances a night from all corners of the earth. Have a little or a lot of gypsy tunes, New Orleans brass, jazz, mariachi, bluegrass and more. For each night, a handmade giant wooden sculpture made by artist Christian Patton will be burnt, accompanied by spectacular pyrotechnics, bringing alight new and timeless winter solstice traditions; inviting good fortune and warding off evil spirits for the coming year.
