Listen to Australian bands and singers all weekend for free
After an epic event in 2017, the Docklands Blues Music Festival is back for 2018 and it's FREE. There are many music festivals around, however, there are very few that are actually free! Now is your chance to see many local and Australian bands.
The theme this year is 'Goin' Down to Memphis' and this will be a celebration of Deep South blues. The event will feature more than 20 Australian performers and live bands.
For all you music lovers, make sure you put Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October 2018 in your diaries or phones for another fantastic weekend of Australian blues. The festival will start at 11.00 am on both days. It will go till 3.00 pm on the Saturday and until 8.00 pm on the Sunday. The exact address for the festival is at the District Docklands, 440 Docklands Drive, Docklands.
There is going to be some of the country's very best blues musicians. It will be non-stop blues and a whole weekend of continuous music which will be held at several indoor and outdoor stages and licensed venues.
There will be four stages with entertainment at the festival. There will be the Garden Stage (near Supre), The Square (near H & M), Wonderland Junior Stage, and the Urban Alley Brewery Stage.

This is the 8th year of this festival and it is produced by the Wonderland Entertainment & Leisure Group, in conjunction with the District Docklands. People who are passionate about blues music are the reason this festival is held and it is run by volunteers and has local support and generous partners.
As this festival runs for two days, why not go there for the full weekend of events? There is a lot of accommodation all within walking distance of this amazing festival.
Docklands is easily accessible to/from the Melbourne CBD - there is the free City Circle tram, or the 86 tram, go by bus, walk or perhaps even cycle along the Capital City Trail!

Once you're at the festival, there are heaps of things to do. There are many restaurants and cafes on the waterfront, as well as in the District Docklands Shopping Centre. Here there are also attractions like Wonderland Junior and The Melbourne Star Observation Wheel.
