Cooking is an art of preparing food and it's an expression of one's creativity. I'm not an expert cook but good enough to cook decent food for friends and family. Surprisingly, It's quite a therapeutic activity to relax, unleash my imagination and experiment new dish based on recipe adaptation. However, I can never follow a recipe strictly especially when it comes to daily cooking.

Usually, I just make do with what I have on hand and adapt to the recipe without following the measurement for all the ingredients (so far no major disaster yet at least). It's purely imagination, common sense and proportion.

I think it's fine not to follow a recipe strictly as long as the food turns out to good to our liking but for baking, it would be advisable to follow the recipe as much as possible in order to achieve the right texture.

So, what is your cooking style? Did you follow recipes strictly? and how did it turn out?
