Everyone's favourite sign - free wifi!
Parks are always a great place to go, especially if you have children, because they always have at least one of the following: play equipment, barbeques, tables, sheltered areas, space for a picnic, a fenced dog park, (clean) toilets, a basketball court, a rebound wall, a car park, free wifi... but what about a park that has
all of these facilities, in the one area?

Just some of the play facilities they have - it's spread out over quite a large area, so it's impossible to capture in just one photo. However, the whole play area has great shade, so no need to worry about your child being too exposed to the sun!
Well, you've come to the right place... or article! DM Henderson Park is only a 15 minute drive from Brisbane City, and is personally one of my favourite parks, because of the wide range of facilities it has. It is also huge, meaning that it can never get crowded! Another thing worth mentioning is that there is another great park (albeit a smaller one), Yimbun Park, that is within walking distance. They also have extensive play equipment, as well as a walking track. Here are some photos of the facilities available at DM Henderson Park...

A rebound wall - great for tennis, handball... or anything you fancy really.

A basketball half court. Eddy wanted to watch (and join in) and refused to leave!

A fenced off dog park - unfortunately, there isn't a separate area for small dogs and big dogs, but it's still a relatively spacious area.

Inside the dog park - green everywhere!

Lots of green, grassy areas to enjoy a picnic.

A nice, cool area where you can escape from the heat.
There is also a walking track towards the end of the park, from which you can watch several sports: Rugby (Sunnybank Senior Rubgy Union), Netball (MacGregor Netball Association) and Cricket (MacGregor Cricket Club). I forgot to take photos of the actual track, but I do have a couple of photos of Eddy taken during our walk..

Not sure what this was for, but I loooove Queenslanders!

Have you ever seen such a happy pug before?
That's about all for today - if you have children and are looking for a new, exciting place to entertain them without having to break the piggy bank (metaphorically speaking), then DM Henderson Park should be on top of your to-do list! Now to finish off with my favourite area in the park...

Ta da! Lion King! ...or should I say Pug King?
