Djuki Mala (the Chooky Dancers)originate from Elcho Island in North East Arnhem Land, Northern Territory. They first came to world-wide attention in 2007 with smash-hit YouTube clip'Zorba the Greek Yolngu style' which is now has over 2 million views.
These days, the Chooky Dancers are a professional performance troupe in their own right - touring internationally and adopting their traditional Yolngu name of Djuki Mala (Djuki - meaning: chook; Mala - meaning: a group or a set of people who share a common feature).
