D. J's Market Summer Special

It seems like only yesterday that I went to D. J's Christmas Bonanza Market and here we are, back again, ready for the Summer Special on the 10th of January 2015. Please take note of the new timeframe that is 9am to 2pm. Perfect for the summer months when it gets far too hot to start later in the day. Perhaps with this earlier timeframe you can make it an occasion for breakfast out. Ken and Cranky Clyde will be at this market for you to enjoy. They're on their journey around Australia to help raise much needed funds for the Cancer Research Foundation so give them a helping hand won't you? Read about it HERE.

The first time I checked out D. J's market was at the Christmas Bonanza. Sharyn the Market Manager was seated at the entrance with her collecting can on the ready for gold coin donations. This goes to the charity the market supports; The Melanoma Institute Australia . There are stalls outdoors and indoors in the hall on the premises. Located near the manager's desk is a very talented lady named Sandra Rogers and I was very impressed by all her handmade Christmas themed giftware. She was a genius with the cloth dolls (plastic bag holders) and the hanging fairies were such a clever idea the way they hung off each other that I just had to have a couple as part of my Christmas decoration. Let me introduce you to Peter Pudding, Holly Ham and Theresa Tree as you see them in the picture (last row, center) below. While you're at it, check out her cute 'little' cups with pin cushion mounds in them and a hand coming out like 'Thing' from the old T.V. show The Addams family . Sandra is obviously a lady of great talent and humour.

I started with the petting zoo when I came in. It was actually quite nice staying a while and observing the animals as not all of us get to frolic with many other than cats and dogs. I can understand why having a pet is attributed to lowering blood pressure as I felt stress free delighting in their cuteness. There are jumping castles and treasure hunts for the kids and face painting is right up there as something kids like to have done. The fabulous Hollywood Face Painting lady is so quick with her designs. What a Wiz! No surprise that 'Frozen' was the obvious choice and the 'look' of many. For parties or special occasion bookings, call 0405 537 056. For the full price range, check out their website .

Among other shops that I came across there was a lady who made all her lovely rhinestone type jewellery as you can see in the first two pictures. A Little Touch of Bali sells giftware, home decor, fashion accessories and furniture. They also support the Jodie O'Shea Orphanage by donating 10% of their sales. This orphanage was built in the loving memory of Jodie O Shea who tragically died as a result of the Bali bombing in 2002 and is funded 100% by visitors and generous people. M D Designer Kidz have impressive goods for newborns, kids and new mums that are sourced globally at a good price. You will recognise quality when you see it with products made in Australia, the USA, Canada, Sweden and the UK. To order simply email: [email protected]. You can also check out their Facebook page . There were some impressive cupcakes at Talijah's Sweet Creations that looked very tempting. You won't go hungry at this market that's for sure. I also loved the very cute concept of 'recipe in a jar'. Brilliant! I'll leave you with the rest of the pics and some information about the stalls. See you at the markets!
