Face painting, food and gifts @ DJ's Carrum Downs launch
Looking for something fun to do this coming Saturday February 20th? Then look no further. D.J's Market is launching their third market location between 10-2 at Carrum Downs Secondary College, 263 McCormicks Road, Carrum Downs.
This terrific market was meant to launch back in December but was postponed due to a searing heatwave at the time which predicted a 42 degree day. However, if this market is anything like their other two locations, it's bound to have been worth the wait.
D.J's Market first launched in Narre Warren South back in August 2014. They moved to Berwick in December 2015 and have run their night market in Lynbrook since July 2015.
D.J's Market is named after the market organiser's mother, Dawn Jackson, who passed away from a melanoma in 2012. D.J's Market gives an annual donation to the Melanoma Institute Australia, which is collected via various raffles and treasure hunt card over the year.
D.J's catchphrase is "We're No Ordinary Market," and that's because they love to cater to the whole family, especially the children. Children's activities will include a jumping castle by Frankston Flinders Jumping Castles. The cost is $4 for 10 minutes or $10 for an all-day pass. Popcorn and fairy floss will be $3 each. There is also a colouring-in comp with prizes awarded on the day. Plus fairy Heather Frankish will be there with her amazing face painting. Market mascot D.J the Lion may also pay a visit depending on the heat.
Stall-wise there is a great line-up of D.J's Market regulars, as well as some new ones. Just a snippet of who you will see:
Grandma's Delights Jodi's Soy Candles
Esy Jewellery Little Bewdy Jodidit
Beanie Kids Haven
Soaps Up Australia
And many more.
Food-wise there is the Frankston Under 18's USA Tour fundraising sausage sizzle, delicious coffee, hot chocolate, iced coffee and iced chocolate by D.J's Market regular Charisma Coffee.
Entry is free, but if you would like to make a gold coin donation you will receive a treasure hunt card. Simply find the stall holders named on the back, 10 of which will have a little treat to give you. Then hand it in to go in a prize draw. Please note there are only 50 treasure hunt cards, so first in best dressed. However, if D.J's run out of cards you will be issued with a raffle ticket for a special prize draw.
So make sure you mark this in your diaries and support this terrific community market.
