Featuring award winning Adelaide actor Jean Walker

Adelaide's premiere theatre company, Red Phoenix Theatre, is proudly presenting a strictly limited season of Pulitzer Prize and two-time Academy-Award winner Horton Foote's brilliant play Dividing the Estate.

Featuring the much-loved, award-winning Adelaide actor Jean Walker, under the direction of Libby Drake, Dividing the Estate is not to be missed! Tickets are now on sale!

Following their hysterically funny production of A Bunch of Amateurs earlier this year, Red Phoenix Theatre is excited to change direction and present a compelling tale of a dysfunctional family in crisis.

Dividing the Estate is set in the fictional town of Harrison, Texas, in 1987. The story focuses on the Gordons, a clan of malcontents ruled by 82-year-old matriarch Stella. The family must prepare for an uncertain future when plunging real estate values and a massive tax bill threatens the family fortune.

Stella's children - predatory Mary Jo, complacent Lucille, and alcoholic Lewis engage in a battle over whether or not they should divide the estate while their mother is still alive in order to ensure their financial independence.

A story of families and money. Everyone is very fair and reasonable of course – ahem!

Whose money is it anyway?

Actor Jean Walker, who won the Adelaide Theatre Guide's 2018 "Curtain Call" Award for Best Female Performance, takes on the role of Stella. The talented cast also includes Kate Anolak, Wayne Anthoney, Laura Antoniazzi, Eliza Bampton, Brendan Cooney, Gabi Douglas, Lindsay Dunn, Jasmine Leech, Mark Mulders, Cate Rogers, Nicole Walker, and Lyn Wilson.

Dividing the Estate plays at The Studio - Holden Street Theatres (The Home of Great Theatre), 34 Holden Street, Hindmarsh on August 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, 30, and 31 at 7.30pm. Matinee Sunday August 25 at 2.00pm.

Early bookings are advised. Secure your tickets here. Prices are as follows: Adult: $25.00, Concession: $19.00 and Group: $21.00.
