I confess. I'm not an opera fan, but... I love DivaLicious, Perth's premier opera duo. I saw them at Fringe World 2013 when they were nominated for Best Cabaret at Fringe World, and was blown away by their talent and their deliciously entertaining show.

The angelic (are they really?) duo are back for Fringe World 2014, with their new show An Intimate Evening With DivaLicious on from January 24-27, 2014. Last year the two bridezilla divas duelled in wedding dresses over a lover, pushing and shoving each other out of the way while they sang. This year, they'll reveal all. No, not that kind of all, though they will be in a "dressing room".

Comic sopranos Penny Shaw and Fiona Cooper Smyth will recount their journey from the day they met in the chorus of the WA Opera (beginning a lifelong rivalry) to their time on Australia's Got Talent, singing songs from the movies, including musical theatre hits and operatic favourites.

Audiences can expect a delightful hour of humour, harmonies and heavenly voices... with plenty of Hollywood glamour and dressing room gossip. It's devilishly angelic fun as the two poke and prod each other.

Despite being an opera novice, I recognised all of the songs, so don't be put off if opera is not your thing. It's more cabaret in form. This is pure entertainment that upholds the highest musical standards, so everyone, from the seasoned opera lover to the complete novice, will enjoy an evening with DivaLicious.

An Intimate Evening with DivaLicious will show in the De Parel Spiegeltent at Fringe World (Perth Cultural Centre) from January 24 to 27.

If you haven't been in the De Parel Spiegeltent, prepare for a treat. It's a gorgeous old mirror tent that has been a bar, dance hall and entertainment salon in its lifetime, and it adds to the intimacy and fun of the show.

The one-hour shows start at 6pm.
