One of the finer things about Melbourne is much of the suburbs can very much hold their own with the city when it comes to showcasing stylish and quality cafes. is evidence of this.

Nestled just across from a primary school on Brewer Rd in Bentleigh, this 'off Centre Rd' establishment - one of a growing number of local spots staking a claim against Bentleigh's 'main street' as a local coffee hotspot - has been open for just a few months (January 2015) at time of writing. Yet, this is a cafe that very much radiates the quiet confidence of a business that has been trading for years.

Walking in, a customer will be struck by the warm and rich hues of the interior, with the mix of black, white and green about the counter very much making the place 'pop' in the visitors eyes.

Alongside the bright light and inviting decor of the main room, there is a courtyard in the back that is brilliant if keen to start a morning off away from the bustle of the street outside.

With style and seating addressed, a word on the food and drinks on offer; and the menu at DB is diverse and eclectic. If keen on Baked Truffle and Polenta Eggs, Stuffed Fig French Toast, Duck Rillettes, or Black Forest Bircher, these and more are on offer at DB. Yet, for those visiting who gravitate more towards more straightforward and simple cuisine, the menu is accommodating.

Alongside Toast, Ham and Eggs and Eggs Benedict, there are also sandwiches which rotate through specials. Further, in a move that caters for all visitors - and appears a solid nod this a cafe that doesn't take itself too serious - there is Vegemite soldiers and boxed cereals which as the menu sais is 'for the kid in all of us'. Further, that DB features does a 'All Day' menu (included all dishes aforementioned) means whatever your tastes - and however many birthday's you've had - some points should go to a cafe that'll whip up a burger before 9am and offer toast after 3pm.

Concerning drinks, this is another avenue where the cafe is more than a little good. Alongside a latte or flat white on hand, the menu offers Vietnamese coffee, 'super spiced' Cacao, Moroccan Mint Herbal Tea and Pink Grapefruit mineral water, and more. Further, for those on the and keen on something a little different, DB also offers things like Chia puddings to speed along your morning.

Another virtue of DB is its proximity to the Nepean Hwy. For those folks en route to the city or going Peninsula way pre-peak hour - or keen to get out of some slow traffic for a Macchiato fix - this cafe is a solid option for such an assignment.

Therefore, if looking for a cafe that's got some stylish surrounds, a wide array of options for food - and then chance to 'mix and match' with a Vietnamese coffee or Moroccan Mint tea as drinks - then what's been built up here on Brewer Rd fits the bill.

; a vibrant new venue that has much to recommend a stop by.
