Macquarie Shopping Centre in North Ryde had a recent face lift and it has since attracted many fashion brands, some of them are the first shops in Sydney. This has attracted a lot more foot traffic in the mall, which in turn attracted new restaurants.
The newest player in town is District 1, a Vietnamese restaurant which is neatly tucked between big and popular Bondi Pizza and Pappa Rich. District 1 turns out to be a very nice surprise.
The lanterns at District 1 gives you a nice cosy ambience
The crispy chicken with fried rice at District 1 brings the warmth and flavours of home. The chicken is cooked just the way I like it, with light and crispy skin and no drama, fried rice and a little garnish of veggies on the side.
The pork is served with rice topped with egg, some noodles, and veggies. I have since frequented District 1 whenever I am in the area, and I alternate between the chicken and the pork. Great flavours in such a very unassuming place.
