Relive the romance and magic of Disney favourite The Little Mermaid at Koorliny Arts Centre with the WA premiere opening on January 29, 2016.

Directed by Brad Tudor and Natalie Burbage, the first production in the Koorliny Arts Centre and Kwinana Industries Council 2016 Performance Season is the Broadway musical based on the 1989 animated movie and one of Hans Christian Anderson's most beloved stories.

The cast includes actors from across Perth, including Shanice Palfrey as Ariel, Jesse Angus as Prince Eric, Peter Shaw as Grimsby, Paul Treasure as King Triton, and Craig Griffen as Chef Louis. The cast and crew are now putting the finishing touches on the show, ahead of opening night - and the costumes and props are fantastic!

Audiences will be swept into the magical tale of the beautiful young mermaid who longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above, based on Ariel, King Triton's youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above and bargains with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems and Ariel needs the help of her colourful friends Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.

The heart-warming tale of Ariel will swirl to even greater life with its colourful costumes and gorgeous scenery—and the songs people love and know.

With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will captivate audiences with its irresistible songs including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl," and "Part of Your World."

Musical direction is by Jo Bennett and choreography is by Anita Telkamp.

The Little Mermaid will show on January 29, 30 and February 5, 6, 12 and 13 at 7.30pm, and February 6, 7 and 13 at 2pm.

Tickets are now on sale and cost $25 standard, $23 concession and $18 children. Book here or call the box office on 9467 7118.
