Making a Splash
80 talented young performers will bring the tale of Disney's animated film The Little Mermaid to life in a glamorous stage production that children of all ages will enjoy. Coming to Parkville's Union House Theatre during the school holidays, the musical stage adaptation will run for a strictly limited season from Wednesday 30th September to Saturday 3rd October.
Set in a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home and her fins behind to explore the world above. But first she will have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he has been seeking.

Flowing seamlessly between land and sea, the Young Australian Broadway Chorus' production of Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. brings these glittering, shimmering locations to life for young audiences and families.
The cast will be led by 16-year-old Jasmine Arthur as Ariel, Lachlan Wolters (17 years) as Prince Eric and Rishab Shrivastav (15 years) as Sebastian the Crab.

Robert Coates, Artistic Director at the Young Australian Broadway Chorus says, "We can't wait to get back into the Union Theatre to present Disney The Little Mermaid Jr. This show contains all of the ingredients of a classic Broadway musical – great songs, spectacular production numbers, plucky heroine, wacky sidekick, evil villain – all wrapped up in a one hour family-friendly production. Costume Designer Jennifer McKenzie is going all-out to ensure that we can transport audiences 'under the sea' in this terrific Disney adaptation."

Disney The Little Mermaid Jr follows on from a highly successful sell-out season by the Young Australian Broadway Chorus of Disney Aladdin Jr.
The performers from the Young Australian Broadway Chorus are talented singers, dancers and actors aged from 10-17, including some entertainment industry professionals who have appeared in feature films and television shows. The chorus has previously performed in sell-out seasons of Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz.
