This April the beautiful area of Port Noarlunga beach will be transformed into a sand sculpture park. The sand creations made from over 150 tonnes of sand, will include sculptures of Disney princess and pirates from the popular Disney children's movies.

All your favourites will be there. It seems every young girl loves Elsa and Anna from Frozen. And there will be many more Disney princesses to discover. Walk around the display and see if you can spot which princess is carved into the sand. The Disney movie Neverland will be represented with Captain hook and his band of pirates. Be sure to take your camera. Australia's talented sand sculptors will work for weeks on the display and have it all ready for you this school holidays.

All the special Disney characters will be revealed in sand at this international sand sculpture exhibit. Official event poster.
After strolling around and finding your favourite princess or pirate, you can join in with other activities. There will be sand sculpting workshops, to learn just how the professional do it. Its a special technique and a lot harder than it looks. There will also be sand art, sand bottles and digging to do. There will be special kids zones for Lego Play Zone, a Play Zone and a Disney Colouring Zone. Over the Easter weekend (4-6 April) a Sandsational Easter Egg hunt will be included with entry.

My tips for a great day out:Take sun protection and a drink. After viewing the sand sculptures your family could enjoy a picnic on the beach or a walk along the foreshore and a paddle. April still brings us lovely weather so it will be perfect down at the beach, without the heat of summer. However the beach is often windy, so take a light jacket or a hoodie. Watch the time for your car park, so you don't get a ticket. This looks so much fun, I think I will get out and about and head down south to this one.
Have a great day out.
Directions for how to get there:Take the southern expressway, then the exit to Beach Road, Christies Beach. Follow this all the way to the beach and then turn left at The Esplanade. Follow this along until you get to Port Noarlunga Beach, a short distance further.
