An incredible experience these school holidays
The Disney-Pixar smash-hit The Incredibles was released in 2004 – that's 14 long years ago. Now, a new generation of fans are set to get to know this superhero family with the release of The Incredibles 2, and your children can get in on the action at Karrinyup Shopping Centre in the July school holidays.
The Incredibles introduced the world to the Parr family – mum and dad Bob and Helen, also known as Mr Incredible and Elastigirl, along with kids Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack. In the original film, Bob and Helen were trying to lead a normal life without their superpowers after a public backlash against superheroes.
In the sequel, Bob is now a stay at home dad grappling with the ins and outs of everyday life with children while Helen is the main breadwinner and has resorted to trying to save the world by herself. Bob soon finds the lure of defeating villains to good to resist, and the entire family soon find themselves back in the thick of things.
To celebrate the return of this superfamily, Karrinyup Shopping Centre will host Disney-Pixar's The Incredibles 2 Immersive Zone during the second week of the school holidays.
This free, interactive activity zone is an Australian first event and will run from Monday, 9 July to Sunday, 15 July at Centre Court. Children can get creative and design their own superhero costume in Edna's craft zone. They can also pose for pictures with a life-size Mr Incredible and Jack-Jack, or test their own skills with Dash's reflex tester.
The Immersive Zone is suitable for children of all ages and is free to take part. Operating times are between 10am and 2pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 3pm on Sunday.
During the week, various retailers at the centre will be offering exclusive special offers. In an added bonus for parents, the Jungle Gym will open between 10am to 5pm from Monday to Saturday and between 11am to 5pm on Sundays. Children between 3 and 12 years can play for 15 minutes and the sessions are free.
Karrinyup is one of Perth's premier shopping destinations, with over 130 specialty stores, plus major retailers Myer, David Jones, Woolworths and Big W. For the July school holidays, it will be the home of the world's favourite family of superheroes, so come along and meet The Incredibles.
