Disney on Ice is a year round show featuring 50 years of Disney animated films brought to life. The touring ice shows produced by Feld Entertainment are primarily aimed at children featuring figure skaters dressed as Disney cartoon characters. This year's Adelaide show was Treasure Trove a show featuring many Disney characters. The show is hosted by loved characters Micky and Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck as they search through history in the form of a treasure chest to tell the tales of Disney stories. The first show was produced in 1981, and since then shows have played all over the world, including the America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Treasure Trove featured acts from nine famous Disney movies; Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Princess and the Frog, Toy Story 3 and Tangled.

The show starts with a tale of some toys, Andy's toys. Woody and Jessie take the stage followed by Buzz Light-year and sing 'The Toys are Back in Town'. As they disappear into the darkness we are taken on a journey back in time to the story of Alice in Wonderland, who is late, late for a very important date.

Alice skates alongside the Rabbit and the Mad Hatter, but when the Queen of Hearts skates onto the stage surrounded by her skating Deck of Cards you cant take your eyes off the scene.

The best part about this show was that it featured so many stories. I have being going to these shows since I was two years old and am now 23, and they often follow one story for two hours, but this show gave you a taste of a lot of Disney history.

It took the time to pick the most famous songs from each movie and portray them on ice. The Little Mermaid and Sebastian sang 'Under the Sea'; The Lion King cast did 'I Just Cant Wait to be King', 'Circle of life' and 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight'; Aladdin and Jasmine flew across the stage on a magic carpet singing 'A Whole New World' and marched across the stage with an elephant singing 'Prince Ali'. Snow White was the first Disney film and was another that was portrayed perfectly. The Dwarfs marched on to stage singing 'Heigh-Ho' and when Snow White and her Prince danced together it was moving and the lifts were incredible.

'Tick Tock, Tick Tock' then comes the croc, Hook in Peter Pan gets eaten by a giant crocodile and Wendy and Peter sing 'We Can Fly' while Tinkerbelle flies across the stage. The show ends with one of the newest Disney stories Tangled. The story of Rapunzel, a kidnapped princess who finds her way home and falls in love with Flynn a beautiful stranger. Then together, all the Disney princesses and princes took to the stage to perform a ballroom type dance featuring Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Mulan and Snow White.

It is a show not to be missed and every year keeps getting better. Tickets go on sale soon for 2015's Disney on Ice Spectacular Frozen. The story of a princess who has a secret that only her family and a fearless ice maker and his pet reindeer know. She has magical icy powers that cause more trouble then there worth.
