The cities of Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan have all merged into each other. When driving around, perhaps the only way of knowing which city you are in is observing the "welcome to" signs on the side of the roads as you are driving around.
Springfield and Springfield Lakes are relatively new planned suburbs in Ipswich, but also close to the boundaries of Logan and Brisbane.
The Education Precinct in Springfield includes a new campus of the University of Southern Queensland. Driving around Springfield and Springfield Lakes you will be impressed with the significant areas that have been set aside for nature and recreation. The two neighbouring suburbs have a total of twenty-eight parks.
One of the larger parks in Springfield Lakes is Discovery Park. Like most of Springfield and Springfield Lakes it is relatively new. Built in 2010, it is wheelchair accessible, having two parks specially designed with wheelchair access, and of course wheelchair accessible toilets.
