There is nothing finer on a weekend morning then a visit and rummage through the various stalls of the local Sunday outdoor market. Never mind which town market, as no matter where you are, you are bound to find a robust community of artisans and local producers with countless of items to browse, sort, sample and discover.
Of course, the Rotary Sunday Market in the pleasant town of Agnes Waters on the Queensland Central 'Discovery Coast' is no different. In this relaxed and low-key market, local growers and businesses are on hand to show off their products and their local knowledge.
We spent just as much time chatting as buying in this friendly local market. I found myself surprised to have so quickly and easily engaged in conversation about natural soap making, best family DVD movies, and the bookseller's free-range chickens and fresh eggs for sale with friendly locals.
Of course, there are the must-haves of any markets and yes, doughnuts are for sale, as pointed out to me by another market-goer! An enjoyable Sunday morning market day and a great place to get your fill of locally grown produce!
