There is no disaster with this Lookout
Nestled in the spectacular Ben Boyd National Park at Eden in the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales (approx. 6hrs from Sydney) and just before the border of Victoria, Disaster Bay Lookout lays.

This scenic Lookout offers conspicuous views of Disaster Bay and the impressive Nadgee-Howe Wilderness Area, which makes any photographer feel like they are in heaven. It is an outdoor junkie's paradise and a sanctuary for birdwatchers!

Getting to the Disaster Bay Lookout is more than worth the approximately 15km drive on unsealed road that feels like it will never come to an end. (The unsealed drive is suitable for 2wd vehicles). Once you arrive, you cannot help but put the drive behind you and be in awe at one of nature's best kept beauties...

Admiring the hauntingly beautiful overcast view...

Disaster Bay Lookout offers breathtaking views of unspoilt coastline of the New South Wales Far South Coast region, including views of the sea and the natural beauty of Disaster Bay as well as the Pacific Ocean, opportunities to witness the majestic whales during their migration from late May to early December, and lush bushland. You can also spot local seabirds such as Australasian gannet, oystercatchers and the white-bellied sea eagle, making this a nature lovers and birdwatcher enthusiast dream come true!

Take a seat on one of the "best seats in the house" and sit back and enjoy the scents and aromas of nature that fill your lungs with pure crisp air, and listen to the birds chirp away as you witness the mighty power of the seas of Disaster Bay below...

This is a perfect stop when exploring other wonders across the Ben Boyd National Park, especially in addition to coming back from visiting the Lighthouse. Whether you are camping, driving past or on a road trip this is a must add to the itinerary as you will certainly be impressed with this natural wonderland.

This "middle of nowhere" awe-inspiring attraction is located around 40km from Eden and a further 15-20km drive of unsealed road, keep an eye-out for the sign and upon arrival there is a short boardwalk that leads to the Lookout.

There are many campsites near the Lookout and accommodation at Eden and surroundings- do check out the website for information on staying here as well as getting here.
