If you're living south side, are a family or carer living with and/or caring for someone with a disability, The Disability Respite & Recreation Expo 2016 is for you. Initiated by MOIRA, it's a free event held on Tuesday 2nd August 2016 from 10am to 2pm at the Kingston City Hall, 985 Nepean Highway, Moorabbin. Being just 100m from the Moorabbin Railway Station, that makes for easy access via public transport as well. There's undercover parking at the venue, but it's limited to 80 spaces.
Carers and immediate family members are invited to a social lunch of delicious hot and cold finger food, to relax, unwind and meet other carers. Be sure to RSVP by 22nd July 2016 by emailing - firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also call the Expo Coordinator on (03) 8552 2222 for more information.
MOIRA is an Incorporated Association that provide a range of support services for people with disabilities, as well as youth experiencing disadvantage throughout the Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne and throughout Victoria.
This event gives you the opportunity to find out more about what's available for people with a disability. There's a bit of shopping to be had with lots of great items at the stalls, including sensory toys. There'll be speakers available to talk on subjects like the NDIS, Autism, Parent Support and other topics. See below for the speaker program times for attendance.
