Get ready for a dirty campaign for PM, with a side of nudity
Dirty Sexy Politics is a new cabaret show written and performed by Thomas Albert and Samuel Valentine. Opening at The Butterfly Club as part Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the hysterical political satire featuring all original music was well written, funny and fresh.
Set in Australia's capital, Tom and Sam are running for Prime Minister and think they have the recipe to win the top job. The men come up with a multitude of chaotic strategies including sex scandals, money laundering and dirty politics.
For 60 minutes the duo focus on Australian politics and pick apart politicians whilst remaining relevant to the current political landscape. ISIS, Ebola, mining, detention centres and unions were all on the agenda.
No politician is given any mercy including Tony Abbott, Clive Palmer, Jacqui Lambie and Bill Shorten. Even Gina Rinehart, the woman Australia loves to hate, made it into the mix.
Given the existing state of affairs the pair have plenty of fodder to feast on and are capitalising on the incredulous words that sprout out of mouths of our leaders. Tom and Sam's comedic timing is impeccable and they connect well with the audience.
Nearing the end of the performance, Sam strips down to his boxer shorts, giving credence to their slogan, "Connect with your Member".
The duo are multi-talented and drag you into their political storm, leaving you yearning for more. Engaging, witty and a must see for all political buffs.
