Would-be palaeontologists will relish the opportunity to go all prehistoric this school holidays at Eastland Shopping Centre in Ringwood. From 1st - 28th July 'Dinosaur Adventures' will be on everyone's shopping list, only the exhibition experience is one item you'll get for nothing. That said, you can make a day of it with several additional user-pays activities available in the centre if you wish.

On its very first outing, Dinosaur Adventures is an exhibition focused on the Triassic period, and is suitable for the youngest of dinosaur tragics to the grooviest of grandparents. Its display will include life-sized moving dinosaurs in an animatronics show in the malls of the shopping centre.

A colouring competition, featuring dinosaurs of course, will keep your child's holiday hands busy. Colouring sheets can be collected from the Customer Service Desk, or you can download either the T-Rex and Triceratops colouring sheets. Entries close on 28th July. The winner will be treated to a selection of dinosaur books from Dymocks, and there will be twenty runners-up prizes awarded. Like they say, you've got to be in it to win it.

Other dinosaur themed activities, you can undertake for a fee, will be provided in the centre. From 11am-2pm children will be provided with their own expert digger outfit and can become a palaeontologist for the day, chipping away at their very own fossil. Cost is $5 per child.

You can have a photographic souvenir of your child taken inside a life sized Dinosaur egg, from $12. And those who bring their Hoyts cinema tickets to the Eastland Customer Service Desk between 1st-14th will receive a free dinosaur plaster art activity.

Terms and conditions apply for many of these activities, and are easily found on the Eastland website , as well as special offers from various retailers.

Access to Eastland Shopping Centre is easy. There are bus stops on three sides of the complex, and train travellers will need only a short walk from Ringwood Railway station. Those arriving by car can access the centre with ease from Eastlink. Parking at the centre is free.
