Have you ever been to a dinner party where there's been an awkward lull in the conversation?
Maybe most of the guests don't know each other and don't really know where to start the conversation? Or maybe someone has just totally put their foot in it and now there's an elephant in the room? Or what if there is one guest who is just monopolising the conversation and no one else can get a word in?
Worse yet, the host is off in the kitchen cooking - so there's no one to turn to in order to rescue the dinner party from impending disaster?
How about asking another guest a question about themselves? Like "How was your day today?" or "What kind of things do you really love doing?" This may be more interesting to others than jabbering on about oneself! Just a thought .... Xxxx
