After COVID-19 closed down the 2020 production of Dinkum Assorted on the eve of the first performance, multi-award-winning theatre company 3bCreative will bring this show back to life bigger and better at the Buderim Hall this month.
Hopes and dreams in a small town against the backdrop of war.
Dinkum Assorted, by Linda Aronson, has had many productions in Australia, but none quite like this. From the moment patrons enter the hall, they will be transported back to 1942, to Jamieson's Biscuit Factory.
2000 Americans are posted near small town Warrabadanga. Fifteen women at the factory battle to keep the biscuits baking and the home fires burning.
Tojo never made it to Warrabadanga, but if he did, he would have ARP Warden Grace to contend with.
Anne Grant, creative force and patron of the performing arts, is the driving force and artistic and stage director of this ambitious production. The cast of 16 all needed several costume changes, and Anne (a former costume creator for Queensland Theatre) and her helpers have been sewing for months.
Sneaking home from dancing with the Yankees, changing in the chook house to avoid Auntie Grace!
Theatregoers who saw 3bCreative's recent Miss Bennet – Christmas at Pemberley will know just how rich, detailed and fun their productions are. This is another 3b gem not to be missed – a truly "Fair Dinkum!" Aussie delight.
We're ready to bring you "Dinkum Assorted". "Pay attention, Vi, we're on!"
