Great food, superb flavours, a visual feast
In the back streets of North Ryde is a cafe that has been building a strong reputation since its arrival ten months ago. The Dining & CO has a range of delicious options from Smoked Salmon Salad through to the Mushroom and Proscuitto Open Sandwich and the Cajun Chicken Burger; their extensive menu has enough to satisfy any foodie. It's the all-day breakfast, though, that attracts me to this wonderful establishment. I've dined here several times with friends and brought my daughter here to celebrate her special birthday.
Brioche French Toast, with a surprise - Image: Faye
Their famous Brioche French Toast is not only a breathtaking spectacle, it is superb to devour. Each tasty morsel is delicious in the mouth. This delightful meal includes a quirky surprise – a syringe containing maple syrup. Just be careful, though, where you point the nozzle. It's to be squirted onto the food, not on dining companions. The tasty syrup trickled over the vanilla mascarpone and the fresh berries and onto the pistachio snow which all sat on a warm bed of French toast. The whole experience was exceeded by the arrangement of vibrant edible flowers which decorated the platter of food. This superb cafe has an inviting spacious indoor section as well as a small outdoor dining area at the front of the eatery.
Justin Park is the owner and amazing chef of The Dining & CO. He is the former Executive chef at Peter Doyle at The Quay restaurant and former owner-chef of The Big Tree House Cafe at Rydalmere. He has been a kitchen judge and has lectured on commercial cookery. His experience and enthusiasm is demonstrated in the magnificent food that is served in this cafe.
In case you need more convincing, another feast for the eyes (and tastebuds).
