Le Dīner en Blanc is coming to secret locations in Adelaide on 29 November 2014 where thousands of people will congregate for a 'chic picnic' in a public space. Participation is by invitation only, guests dress all in white, and bring a table, white chairs, and a picnic basket comprised of quality menu items with a china dinner service.
Le Dīner en Blanc is all about elegance and glamour - think high class and court society. This is a chance to step into a vastly different world away from our everyday life and mingle with people from a diverse range of backgrounds over a common love of beauty and a desire to experience something new and exciting. Prepare for the unexpected!

Launched over 25 years ago in France by Franēois Pasquier, the concept has grown from a small gathering of friends to an international event held around the world. In Paris alone over 15,000 people assemble every year in prestigious locations to participate in this truly magical event.
Festivities will proceed regardless of the weather conditions so attendees must plan their attire accordingly! It will only be cancelled in case of risk to people or property by emergency warning from the weather bureau.
Greenies will be glad to know that Le Dīner en Blanc works within the city's Go Green With Energy Program. This is part of the Adelaide City Council Splash Program and aims to educate guests about waste management and landfill minimisation. Everything is brought in for the event and nothing is left behind.
If you are lucky enough to score an invite to this exclusive picnic, the evening kicks off at 6pm where your team leader takes you to the top secret location for a 7pm start. You'll also know when it's time to pack up and leave! A trumpeter will sound to signify the end of the event.
Amazingly, the dinner is theoretically FREE. All that you pay for is the coverage of setup, installation, DJ's and transport to the venue which comes to a total of $38.50 (plus a $5.50 membership fee and a $5.50 transaction fee). However the best part is that being a member of the organisation means you will be informed of upcoming events and have the opportunity to book as soon as they are announced.
