Is your Valentine Vegan?
SoulPod Foods is the best place to treat your Vegan Valentine. It's the only organic vegan in Melbourne. The serves are generous, well balanced, nutritious and tasty. This Valentine's Day will be their first dinner event and yes, there will be dessert and vegan wine on the menu. Everything is made in the kitchen from scratch, including the yummy sauces. Places for Valentines are limited so keep an eye on their Facebook or website for ticket sales. They reopen on 16 January this year.

The ambiance of yesteryear with a modern heart.
Remember the old red brick Fire Stations? Ringwood's was completed in 1930 and was designed by architect Cedric Ballantyne who also designed the Regent and Plaza Theatres in Melbourne. The architecture features red brick walls, low projecting eaves, terra cotta shingle roof and small multi-pane windows. The fire pole has been removed but you can see where it was. Get there early for a drink (check out the fabulous cocktail list) and have a look around before you sit to eat from their Mediterranean-based menu. The entry to the fabulous building, lighting, various dining areas and lounges make it cosy, warm, inviting and romantic.

Do you want modern luxury?
Sassy and sleek, newly opened in October 2017, Sage Hotel brings 5 star luxury to Eastland. The bar, restaurant and casual seating are on on the same level with views to the Dandenongs. The Partake restaurant serves Australian and Asian-inspired food with ingredients from the Yarra Valley and Victoria. You can book a room and stay the night too.

What about rustically stylish?
Valentine's falls on a Wednesday this year, so weather permitting, the Rooftop Garden at the Cellar Door will be open. With its timber arbour and kitchen garden it is a romantic spot. If not, there is also the Dining Room, Mezzanine bar and cafe. There's an extensive range of beer, wines and ciders and their menu is created around seasonal and locally sourced produce.

Can't get a babysitter? Bring the kids.
Do you fancy dinner and a show? Kids are welcome too at Natalie's Restaurant. This is a great option if you don't have a babysitter as presumably, she will be out with her beau too. Kids under 5 years of age are free. This year, they will have John Watson the Piano Man and Tamsin West to entertain you. They have a great range of dishes. See the flyer below for more details. Book a room here too.
