Have you found that at times it can be difficult to determine where the best place is to enjoy lunch when you've been busy playing tourist in a new town? Milk bar, cafe, or and restaurant?

This was not an issue when we recently visited Beaudesert. Being only 90 kms southwest of Brisbane on the Mt Lindesay Highway makes this an easy destination for day-trippers from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast or as a base camp to the Scenic Rim.

We opted to lunch at the Beaudesert RSL at 23-25 William St, Beaudesert, despite not being RSL members anywhere across the nation. All you need is photographic ID such as a Drivers Licence, Passport, or Over 18 Card for entry.



Diggers Bistro is open 7 days a week for lunch from 11:30am until 2:00pm with several lunch selections from which to choose, all at $15.50 each (discounted for members). I enjoyed the Rump Steak, which was delicious and the lad enjoyed the Bangers n Mash with Caramelised Onions and Gravy. We each thought the meals were good value and portion size and neither of us required a heavy meal that evening.





The dining area in the club is quite spacious, air-conditioned, with friendly staff willing to share their expertise and local knowledge. You can choose from the a la carte menu for lunch (see here ) though we had places to go and things to see.



It is well worth adding Beaudesert RSL to your list of venues where to stop when travelling through the beautiful Scenic Rim. A quick bite to eat and a cool drink revitalised us for the rest of the day.
