An upcoming attraction at Thunderbird Park has attracted nationwide attention, being the first and only of its kind. Opening May 2023, Dig IT
will provide opportunities for all members of the family to operate authentic excavator machinery and enjoy construction-themed challenges.
Children 4 years and younger will be required to sit on the lap of a parent or guardian whilst operating machinery.
Children 5 years and older will be permitted to operate machinery from the driver's seat. Supervising adults will not only be able to assist, but they will also be able to join in!
Participants will enjoy four dedicated challenge zones, within a session of two hours duration.
Upon arrival, visitors will sign in at the Dig IT site office and attend site safety induction training. All necessary safety equipment will be provided for each activity, including a high-visibility vest and hard hat.
At the first challenge zone (The Dig IT Zone) participants will learn how to operate a 1.7 tonne excavator. With these newly acquired skills, they will knock over towers with a wrecking ball (The Demolition Zone) and hook a crocodile (The Croc Zone).
The final challenge (RC Zone) will allow participants to operate 1.14 true scale, fully hydraulic machines. These will include dozers, dump trucks, excavators and rear loaders.
Dig IT will operate on weekends and during the school holiday periods only. Opening hours will be 8:30am-4:30pm, with 4 sessions provided daily.
Bookings are currently being accepted for sessions beginning 13 May 2023. Cost will be $45 per participant (accompanying adults will be required to purchase tickets, regardless of their intended level of participation).
Bookings will also be available for children's parties and corporate team-building workshops.
