Now I know how to spell axolotl
Dewdrop, children's books, kids books, Tea Dragon

Dewdrop is a sweet children's picture book, written and illustrated by Katie O'Neill, author of the equally adorable graphic novel The Tea Dragon Society.

Dewdrop, children's books, axolotl, books about axolotls, children's books about axolotls, books about fish, Mexican walking fish, Katie O'Neill

It is the story of an axolotl named Dewdrop who is preparing to take part in a sports carnival. Dewdrop is a cheerleader, so when his friends worry that their contributions to the carnival are not good enough, he is there to encourage them. With his help, they each rise above their self-doubt and carry on to do their best.

I picked this book up because it was about an axolotl, and I find them fascinating. If you are looking for a factual book about axolotls for kids, you had best look elsewhere. However, if you want a sweet story with a simple, timeless moral and cute, colourful, illustrations, then this book is for you.

Dewdrop is a lovely picture book for parents and children to enjoy reading together. It would be suitable for children aged about seven and up, especially if they are fans of Kawaii things or sea creatures.

Disclaimer: I was given a complimentary copy of this book by Oni Press, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.
