Since opening its doors in 2013, Devon Café has received much critical acclaim from customers and critics alike, who have enjoyed their intriguing takes on familiar dishes and house-made ingredients. Like the Devon's gourmet breakfast and lunch offerings, this carefully crafted dinner menu stays true to the Pan Asian influences Devon has become renowned for.
Celebrated head chef Zach Tan (ex-Guillaume at Bennelong and Pier) introduces an eclectic menu which features snacks, smaller plates and larger plates which are perfect for sharing.
Some of the must-try dishes include lobster rolls; KJI fried chicken wings with go chujang and peanut sauce; pig ear katsu with crispy cabbage, wagarashi and bulldog sauce; and Mum's Chinese egg custard with shiitake, black fungus, yellow needle flower and freshly shaved WA black truffle.
Complementing the savoury delights is an array of contemporary Pan Asian sweets including tamarind ice pops, and sweet bao served with fried ice cream flavours such as pandan & kaya, peanut butter & jam, and vanilla bean & salted caramel.
The dinner menu can also be matched with a range of Asian and local beers and wines.
Devon Café is located at 76 Devonshire Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010. The café can be contacted on 02 9211 8777.
