I'm new to writing, hope you enjoy reading my reviews.

Hey readers here's the second part to this three part series, enjoy.

Devil May Cry 2 in my opinion has to be one of the best games in the series joint with DMC 3. Set in modern times in a fictional city called "Vie de Marti". The story is centred on the main two characters, Dante and Lucia, who try and stop Arius. A business man trying to raise the demon Argosax and to achieve supreme power.

Primarily the story is told through mixtures of cut scenes using the games engine, with several pre-rendered motion videos. Dante and Lucia first meet when they separately enter a museum where an important item "Medaglia" is stored.

When they defeat a group of demons within the museum, Lucia invites Dante to follow her to Dumary island where he is introduced to her mother, Matier. Matier explained that she fought along side Sparda, Dante's father. So Matier asks Dante to fight Arius alongside Lucia. He flips a coin and it lands on heads, this means he will help her.

Later in the game you find out why Dante uses the coin to make decisions and the secret behind it. I'm not going to write down all of the plot as i don't want to give away any spoilers.

Devil May Cry 2 was not made by the same team as DMC. Hideki Kamiya expressed disappointment that he wasn't called by his superiors at Capcom. The game sold very well world-wide, however there were many mixed reviews about the game. Comments such as not great detailed scenery and lack of a challenge by lowering the difficulty.

My personal opinion on the game is that I prefer the game play more than the first. It has a wider area of game play, a better storyline and you can raise the difficulty to make it more of a challenge if necessary. Dante does have a change of personality but this is because he is older and more mature than his former cocky self.

If your someone new to playing these games and want to play them in order of story lines you should play them in this order:

DMC 5 (new upcoming game)
Watch the animated series
and then DMC 2

Game play of DMC 2 has a few changes from the first. You still have devil trigger, however this is accessible at the begging of the game. Orbs and items are the same and this time you can carry more than one vital star which makes the game a little easier, this will sacrifice a great number of red orbs the more you buy.

You still get the ranking system in this game at the end of a mission and fighting. There's a slight difference in the layout and ranking system for the end of a mission. Based on how many red orbs you have acquired, how much damage you've taken, how many items you used, stylish fighting and the time it has taken you to complete the mission.

There is one big difference with the devil trigger, which is that you now get devil hearts to gain attributes in your devil form, such as elemental attacks and abilities like increased speed and flight. Also you can now play as two different characters, Capcom decided this because of complaints in the first game where you couldn't play as Trish.

Its a great game to play, I suggest anyone who loves a good beat 'em up game and the DMC series to go out and buy the HD collection. Part three will be here soon.

I have only played DMC 4, I do own the trilogy and I am so excited for DmC next year. Nice review mate, made me want to play the HD collection sooner.
