Darby Street is home to a variety of havens for those with a sweet tooth. This weekend, loosen your belt and try some of the sweet delights from the most popular restaurant strip in Newcastle.

1. Lemon Brule Tart – Frankie's Place
If this tart was a style of music, it would be opera; decadent, and marked by contrasts. The most tantalising lemon curd, contained within crumbly pastry, and topped off with crunchy, brulee toffee. It's available in a large size for sharing, or mini size (for the kids, or kids at heart). For the bean lovers, Frankie's is also known for making a mean coffee.

2. Churros – The Depot
The Depot has brought this dessert from the midst of Europe to the Newcastle coast. For those that haven't yet experienced this treat, churros are a form of Spanish cinnamon doughnuts. Unlike Western-style doughnuts, churros are long, crunchy sticks that can be dipped into chocolate. Perfect to share with a hot date after tapas. #menu ">Click here to take a look at their menu.

3. Fondue – Coco Monde**
Want to take a special someone on a romantic date? Look no further than Newcastle's French-styled chocolateria. I know when I put the first chocolate-dipped marshmallow into my mouth at Coco Monde, it was love at first bite. At Coco Monde, chocolate desserts and gifts are hand made with love by local chocolatiers. Seriously, these were the most amazing marshmallows – my taste buds were hit by Cupid's arrow!
