No more broken plates
Always wondered what would be a good present which would also serve as good reminder at the same time?

Then Design a Plate is what you should look into. It is a custom created melamine dinnerware that will last a lifetime. Design a Plate Corporate and Kid's Art Plate can be used for fundraisers or for corporate use looking for promotions, retail or even showbag fillers.

You can safely put the plates in the dishwasher but it's not advised to use these in the microwave. These are great for kids as they are made with top grade melamine so the plates won't chip easily and feel durable.

I found this to be a benefit when you have toddlers who are in the experimental phase of eating which means it's a constant battle of food fights, cups and plates being thrown and having to clean a 2m radius of the dining table.

I've used Design a Plate a few times now, when we've had to say good bye to cherished friends that have moved far away to France and South Africa. I had been racking my brain in regards to a nice farewell gift and came across these plates at a friend's house. I couldn't stop thinking that it was such a great idea and as we all had children that grew up together, it was fitting present and souvenir at the same time.

Design a Plate sent through a flatpack with a few sheets of A3 sheet of paper with instructions to keep the artwork within the 25cm plate circumference. You then could send the flatpack back with the artwork or scan and email it as well. I bought a few bottles of acrylic non toxic paint and had the kids immerse their hands in paint and place a handprint on one sheet and then let them have a play with the extra paper sheets that they sent through to us.

The last plate that I had made up, I managed to place 8 handprints from all the kids' from playgroup with just enough space for the mums to put their child's name near the handprints.

Once Design a Plate have received the artwork, this will take 4 weeks to process. If you are wanting to meet events such as Mothers' Day, Father's Day and Christmas, you'll have to meet the cut off dates stated on the website. Taking note that Easter and Christmas are holiday periods. Prices are quoted on the website.

The team at Design a Plate were ever so helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. The kids love using their plates, especially as they want to do and use the same dinnerware as the parents, It is a relief that I don't have to worry about ceramic plates getting smashed with my kids on the loose.

My now 36 and 38 year olds did this as part of a fundraiser years ago in primary school. Their children are using the plates now and they still look as vibrant as they were way back then.

Wow it's so great to hear that the plates have survived 30years on and now the kids are using them. Thanks for letting me know.
