Visit Switzerland for a few hours with traditional home cooked Swiss, French and German food at Des Alpes. There is a distinct European feel to the place as you sip a "Feldschlosschen" beer, surrounded by photos of Swiss chalets, The Matterhorn and scenic lakes.
Apart from traditional fare such as Crepes, Rosti, Kassler and Kasekuchen, Des Alpes has a generous set menu. We chose to try the Swiss Cheese Fondue (see photo above) and had a lot of fun dipping pieces of baguette bread into hot melted cheese. The Swiss Cheese Fondue is an absolute must for any cheese lovers.
Why not celebrate Oktoberfest with stein or two of Loewenbraeu and their special deal of three German courses for $34.50 or two courses for $29? Actually, the home baked Black Forest Cake alone is worth the visit.
Des Alpes is very child friendly with a mini kitchen to keep little hands occupied, a children's menu and colouring in, which gets a big thumbs up in my books. Kids will love seeing the giant cow bells and cuckoo clocks on display too.
