Rewind and rewatch everyone's favourite films
Nostalgic for the cinema of years past? Love nothing better than sitting back and watching a classic you could never watch too many times? Deja-View Cinema concurs, with the Collingwood cinema bringing 80s/90s VHS classics, cult films and popcorn-flicks back to the big screen.
Situated in a warehouse on Johnston Street in Collingwood, Deja-View focuses on screening firm film favourites. Past screenings included Aliens, Boyz in the Hood, Blade Runner, The Big Lebowski, Groundhog Day and Stripes (as part of a Bill Murray Appreciation Night) and Home Alone and Die Hard (for a Christmas special, of course).
To find out what is screening next, as well as when and where (the location can vary, with the space often complementing the film featured), sign up to the cinema's mailing list via their website: deja-view.com.au.
Presented in full HD and with the entire night themed around the movie, Deja-View Cinema's cinema nights are steeped in sentimentality and symbolism surrounding the era and film, leading to many a happy reminiscence. In addition, to bring about an extra bit of nostalgia, each screening is accompanied by a selection of original trailers and custom pre-film entertainment.
Even the candy bar at Deja-View is old school, featuring vintage candy bars, elusive American treats and cinema classics such as hot-buttered popcorn and handmade choctops. Never going out of style and great to sip on while you snack, beer, wine and soft drinks are also on the menu.
