Get a big bite at Degani
Degani seems to be everywhere these days and this café has a typical cafe look all modern surfaces and definitely catering for the family crowds with lots of high chairs and family eat outs. We just wanted a quick evening meal.
I had the Degani chicken parmigiana and was exactly what I expected a whopping big piece of chicken smothered in Napoli sauce, cheese and chips for $21. I was hungry but even I couldn't get through it all.
My friend ordered a Chorizo and Calamari salad which was pan fried calamari and chorizo, olives, roasted capsicum, cucumber, tomato, Spanish onion and rocket with balsamic dressing for $17.90 and my other friend had the Chicken and Pumpkin Risotto for $20.50, probably a bit expensive for risotto but it was filling. The new owner was out to impress and made sure we got our meals on time.
On the menu there are also full on breakfasts, eggs any way you want and more types of pizzas, pastas and risottos than you can come up with plus a kids menu.
The cake slices on display were huge, even though I shared they were still probably more than I wanted on my stomach all night, so if you are hungry you will be satisfied with large portions.
Every time I go past this Degani Café, there are people in there and there are outdoor dining areas for the smokers - but I always dive past them straight for the indoors. Are you hungry? – good, go get a feed at this Degani.
